A dog who was dear to so many is gone.

It was with heavy hearts that the staff of Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue announced Monday afternoon the passing of Bobbydarren Adams, a Golden Retriever belonging to DVGRR Founder and Executive Director Robin Adams.

“We said good-bye to Bobbydarren this morning,” said Adams. “Surrounded by all his DVGRR work family, we put his show dog lead and collar on and sent him on his journey. He was a kind and gentle soul.”

Bobbydarren, age 10, was a fixture at DVGRR’s Golden Gateway campus, arriving to work every morning with Adams. He had recently been diagnosed with cancer.

Adams recalled her Golden’s special love of mealtime with the family.

“Bobby was a countersurfer,” said Adams. “The memory of the Thanksgiving with him on the table eating the turkey will always be our fondest memory.”

Donations in Bobbydarren’s memory can be made to the DVGRR Cody Medical Fund that is used to offset veterinary expenses for dogs rescued by DVGRR.
