Adamstown library Friends fundraiser set for Nov. 14

The Friends of the Adamstown Area Library have set their 10th annual “Bucks for Books” Dinner and Auction on Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Fox Chase Golf Course in Stevens.

A preview begins at 4 p.m. followed by dinner at 5:15 p.m. The auction, under the direction of auctioneers Art Pannebecker and Brad Wolf, begins at 6:45 p.m.

Tickets for the dinner are $40; $18 is a tax deductible donation to the Friends. Walk-ins for the auction are welcome after 6 p.m. at no charge.

Tickets are available from any Friends board emmber or at the library.

Again this year there will be a silent and live auction, raffles, and a 50/50 drawing.

Among the items to be auctioned/sold are restaurant gift certificates, framed photographs, tickets for the Strasburg Railroad, handmade crockery, handmade poncho and afghan, a Denver Community Pool membership, tickets to the Fulton, a special day for five at the state Capitol with Sen. Aument (including a tour, lunch, and tickets to the state museum), a one-week vacation in Wellfleet on Cape Cod, gift baskets, certificates for greens fees to a local golf course, and homemade cakes.
