Berks deputy sheriff from Denver wins race

Damian Ditizio, 26, of Denver, a deputy with the Berks County Sheriff’s Department was the winner of Crime Alert Berks County’s Race Against Crime held Thursday, Aug. 13, at Slick Willy’s at The Works, Wyomissing.

Ditizio received a trophy and $1,000 will be donated in his honor to the Kyle Pagerly Memorial Fund.

A total of 56 racers from the local law enforcement community participated in seven heats consisting of 14 laps. The winner of each heat participated in a final championship heat. Ditizio, representing the sheriff department’s Team Pagerly, was the fastest racer with a time of 21.2 seconds, according to Nein.
