Cocalico area police log
The East Cocalico Police Department reported the following:
WARRANT: A pregnant East Cocalico woman was found with a syringe and several heroin packets when police picked her up on two warrants.
Kate Witwer, 28, the first block of North Reamstown Road, was picked up at her residence April 9 after officers discovered that she had an outstanding Lancaster County bench warrant and a drug warrant from the Reading Police Department.
Upon searching Witwer, who is several months pregnant, officers located a syringe and several packets of heroin on her person.
Witwer was taken into custody and turned over to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Department. Drug charges will be filed at District Judge Nancy Hamill’s office. The officers also referred her case to Children and Youth Services.
HARASSMENT: Debbie Page, 47, Denver, was charged with harassment March 31 due to making numerous unwanted phone calls to a victim at Hinden Homes, East Cocalico Township.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Police received two complaints of an unknown male banging on doors at 6:57 p.m. April 4 in the first block of West Church Street, East Cocalico Township. The male, who was identified as David Lee Ramirez, 35, Denver, was located attempting to enter a nearby business, which was closed, and found to be intoxicated. He was taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.
CARDIAC ARREST: Officers were dispatched to a cardiac arrest in the first block of Cheery Lane, Denver, at 4:48 p.m. April 6. The first officer arrived on scene in three minutes. CPR was started, an AED was utilized and the patient was revived. The patient was taken to Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital and admitted for treatment.
