Reamstown Park was the site of a Civil War skirmish Saturday performed by the 79th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry; the 53rd Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, Company C; the 1st Pennsylvania Reserves; and the 1st Virginia Irish Brigade when the Reamstown Historical Society and Museum sponsored Civil War Day.

Depite the steamy weather, re-enactors and spectators alike savored the sights and sounds of the War Between the States that ended 151 years ago including demonstration of camp life. Members of the 1st Defenders Civil War Round Table of Reading provided insights on the war and local involvement in the relative cool of the Reamstown Community Center.
