Denver youth completes Colonial Lodge internship

Ryan Shupp of Denver recently volunteered 120 hours at Colonial Lodge Community in Denver.

The internship focused on health-care administration. Shupp is no stranger when it comes to volunteering; he spent two years volunteering at Colonial Lodge from his sophomore year until he graduated from Cocalico High School in 2014.

From there Shupp went to Bridgewater College in Virginia. While in school Ryan volunteered at the Bridgewater Retirement Community. He worked in the areas of administration and transportation of residents.

Shupp, a former junior council member with Denver Borough, is an active Lion with both the East Cocalico and Broadway, Va., clubs.

He will be transferring to James Madison University in the fall but will continue his volunteerism at the Bridgewater Retirement Community. Shupp was a Bridgewater College student senator, class vice president, treasurer of the entrepreneurial club, member of SHRM (Society of Human Resource Management), vice president of the Hall Council, and a member of faith-based clubs/organizations as well.

Colonial Lodge Community is a licensed personal care facility located at 2015 N. Reading Road, Denver.
