DVGRR 5K run set for Halloween

The Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue will hold its annual “5K Run for Golden Gateway” on Saturday, Oct. 31, at the Lebanon Valley Rails to Trails trailhead in Cornwall, Lebanon County. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. with the race beginning at 10 a.m. A fun walk will be held at the same time.

All proceeds from the event will be used to support the DVGRR mission of rescuing displaced, unwanted, abused, and puppy mill golden retrievers, Labrador retrievers, and doodles and rehabilitating them for adoption.

All dog- and people-friendly dogs are welcome to participate in the 1.6-mile fun walk and must be on lead (no flexi leashes) and current on vaccinations.

“Since this year’s event coincides with Halloween, we encouraging participants to wear costumes,” said Inza Adams, DVGRR events manager. “In addition to prizes to the top three finishers, we’ll be giving prizes for best human, canine, and combo costumes.”

Registration fee is $25 and $10 for children under 12 with a participating adult. Various event sponsorships are also available.
