DVGRR groundbreaking set for Saturday

The Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue will hold a groundbreaking ceremony Saturday, Aug. 13, at 9:15 a.m., at its campus at 60 Vera Cruz Road, Reinholds. prior to its monthly Meet and Greet event.

The organization is breaking ground for the Golden Gateway Adoption and Activity Center that will allow staff, volunteers, and adopters an indoor area for dog exercise and interaction.

“We’ve been envisioning this building for some time,” said Robin L. Adams, DVGRR executive director and cofounder. “It will provide a wonderful indoor space for dogs to safely run and play, especially in the winter, and will help us avoid canceling our Meet and Greet events due to inclement weather.”

Event cancellations typically lead to dogs spending more time in the program as the monthly Meet and Greet event offers the public an ideal opportunity to learn about the dogs that are available for adoption.

DVGRR will also use this building for adoption appointments, after dark or inclement weather dog walking, dog training, on-site fundraising events, and public educational events.

DVGRR began raising funds for the building during a capital campaign it launched during its annual Golden Gala event in April. This fundraising campaign is still in progress. For more information, visit www.dvgrr.org/support/vision2016.
