Horse show set for Sunday in Stevens
The 14th Annual Open Fun Horse Show is set for Sunday, April 10, at the Friendly Horseman’s Club Show Grounds in Stevens.
The show, sponsored by the South Central/ Pennsylvania Arabian Horse Association, offers a variety of classes and is the first show in a high-point series. Proceeds go to the Pennsylvania Arabian Horse Association. This is a PAC pointed show.
Among the classes to be offered are showmanship and halter, English and Western pleasure and equitation, Walk-Trot division (English, Western, games and Gymkhana) dressage division (including Western dressage), sport horse under saddle classes, Gynkhana (barrel racing and other speed classes), trail class, and games for all ages. Officiating at this year’s show is USEF “R” Judge Dominic Thibaudeau. The dressage and sport horse divisions will be adjudicated by Alexis Clelan Liskey.
The main ring will begin promptly at 9 a.m. and the dressage ring at 8 a.m.; roll into the sport horse classes will be followed by Gymkhana, not to start before noon.
Exhibitors at the show will earn points toward the year-end awards to be given at the PAHA-SC District Holiday Party to be held at The Timbers in Mount Gretna on Dec. 3.
Admission to the show is free to spectators. Food is available for purchase.
A 50/50 raffle will be held with proceeds going to the Greystone Manor Therapeutic Riding Center. Friendly Horseman’s Club will also be hosting a tack swap during the show.
