Officers administer Naloxone, revive patient

East Cocalico Township police officers responded to an apartment at 99 Monroe St. in Denver Borough for a 911 call of a cardiac arrest at 2:41 p.m. April 15.

The first officer arrived on scene and found an unresponsive 43-year-old male on the floor of the residence. The male was turning blue and struggling to breathe.

Police said it was determined the male had ingested an opiate based drug. Officer Dave Fisher administered two doses of Naloxone and provided assistance breathing with a valve mask.

The patient was revived and eventually taken to the Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital for treatment.

Officers were assisted at the scene by the Reamstown Ambulance, Medic 4 and members of the Denver Fire Company.
