The skies were kind as Reamstown celebrated its 10th annual National Night Out.

“Thank goodness the weather held out,” said East Cocalico Supervisor Alan Fry, as he assisted police Cpl. Chris Progin handing out literature and speaking with the many residents who enjoyed all the free activities at Reamstown Park.

There was no charge for anything. There were many children’s games, entertainment and food, including hot dogs, French fries, chips, Goldfish, multi-colored snowcones, and bottles of ice cold water.

Many people enjoyed the large display of different kinds of fire trucks and apparatus from local fire companies. Children proudly wore their personal fire helmets. Reamstown Ambulance had all its doors open for people to learn about the sophisticated equipment and meet the crew.

Several churches and community groups had displays and free handouts.

East Cocalico Police officers said they appreciated the good crowd and the opportunity to meet and interact with residents.

Many could be heard saying “thank you” to local police, volunteer fireman and ambulance crews.
