It’s that time of the year again, when high school seniors across the nation turn the tassel from one side of their mortarboard to the other.

And, the honor for Cocalico High School seniors is set for June 9. That’s the night they’ll receive the coveted item they’ve been working so hard for — their diplomas.

Cocalico will once again hold their graduation ceremony at Cavalry Church in Lancaster. The program will kick off at 7 p.m. with a variety of student speakers to take the stage.

This year, the Class of 2011 will hear from valedictorian Lindsey A. Wanner and salutatorian Timothy P. Sensenig.

Wanner is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Wanner and Sensenig is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Bruce Sensenig.

In addition to the top scholars, the students will be joined at the mic by four other members of their graduating class.

Ciara N. Brechtlein, class president, will address the crowd on behalf of all seniors. She is the daughter of Jacqueline Brechtlein. The speakers chosen to represent the Class of 2011 are Erin E. Hess, daughter of Melissa and Robert Hess; Margot A. Leid, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Leid; and Jenna Sumar, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ariff Sumar. The commencement program will then mark the individual graduation of every Cocalico senior.
