Reamstown Days offers fun for whole family

This year’s Reamstown Days is quickly approaching. The event will be held on Sept. 9 and 10 in Reamstown Memorial Park. Fireworks will be part of the event for the first time since 1985 (weather permitting). Admission and parking are free.

On Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. the local band Rusted Nickel will perform. Also featured will be a classic car cruise by the Cocalico Cruisers, music by DJ Kenny P, games, food provided by Wild Wings and other activities.

Saturday starting at 8 a.m. there will be a quoits tournament (until about 3 p.m.). A historical society open house and business and community expo will begin at 11 a.m. and run until 2 p.m. Pennsylvania Dutch food, kids barrel train rides and bouncing inflatables will be offered.

Historical walking tours will be given at 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. At 1 p.m. there will be a pet show, at 2 p.m. a talent show, a karate demonstration at 3 p.m., a candy drop for the children at 4 p.m. and at 5 p.m. a rubber duck race, games and music by DJ Kenny P.

The nationally known band, Rick K. and the Allnighters, will perform at 7 p.m. The fireworks will be launched after Rick K. and the Allnighters.

Rain date for the fireworks is Sunday at 9:30 p.m.

The appearance of Rick K. and the Allnighters at Reamstown Days is sponsored by the Reamstown Mutual Insurance Company.
