The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Norlanco will have a Relay Rally gathering on Tuesday, March 3, to announce its Honorary Survivor and Honorary Caregiver for the 2015 event.

Cheryl Ackley of Ephrata is being recognized as Honorary Survivor and Angela Martin Hurst of New Holland as Honorary Caregiver. Both will address the gathering at Cocalico High School which is open to the public and starts at 6 p.m.

Ackley is the beneficiary of successful treatment at the Ephrata Cancer Center. Hurst and her family have been featured in many news stories in the past, but they are being honored as caregivers, to not only their daughter and sister Amber Martin but also to their husband and father Jay. The family has an amazing story to tell.

The event will also feature an ACS Mission Moment and will provide information on how voices in the fight against cancer can be heard in Harrisburg.

Relay For Life of Norlanco is part of the fundraising efforts for The American Cancer Society. The community event will be at Garden Spot High School, June 19 and 20. For more information, contact the office in Lancaster at (717)397-3745 or e-mail or Sharon Susa at
