There is an additional fee to participate in the special challenges, with a portion of those proceeds donated to DVGRR. All challenge participants will also receive gift certificates and coupons valued at $150 from each company.

Following the tournament is another “Dining with Dogs” event also at the Foxchase Golf Club, at 6 p.m., following the annual “Change a Golden’s Life” golf tournament. All leashed, dog-friendly dogs are welcome.

“We know how much people enjoy spending time with their dogs, and it’s not often that you can take your dog to dinner,” said Inza Adams, DVGRR events manager. “We’ve held ‘Dining with Dogs’ in the past at various accommodating restaurants and the turnout has been wonderful. This also gives us the opportunity to extend a fun day to non-golfers.”

The menu includes appetizers, pulled pork and sliced brisket, beans, mac and cheese, cole slaw, cucumber salad, and assorted cakes and pies. Beverages include beer, iced tea, lemonade, and water. The cost is $40 per person. For those participating in the golf tournament, dinner is included with the golf registration fee.
