Opening a new store can be murder. Especially when customers find a dead body in aisle three. But whodunnit? The conniving partner? The cheating wife? A rival store owner? A jealous lover? Or the director?

Join Lancaster’s premiere a cappella choruses as they band together to solve a heinous crime with a musical twist. None of the performers are professionals, but some have been barbershop singers for 50 years or more. All hail from Lancaster and the surrounding counties.

“Murder in Aisle Three” will be presented at Dutch Apple Dinner Theater, 510 Centerville Road, Lancaster, on Sunday, May 21, at 7 p.m.

Sum of Each, an a cappella quartet with members from Ephrata, Lititz, Manheim, and Lancaster, will be performing at the Dutch Apple on May 21.

The show features musical numbers by Red Rose  men’s barbershop chorus and the Red Rose City women’s show chorus. Chapter quartets will also perform. Tickets include Dutch Apple’s all-you-can-eat dinner buffet.

Fans of barbershop know that humor is a key element of the craft of barbershop harmony. Biting humor, quirky characters, and four-part ringing harmony pepper the musical, and add to the intrigue.

The cost for adults is $39. Those 25 and under pay $25. To purchase a ticket, call 898-1900, or visit dutchapple.com.
