Chocolate weekend starts with Second Friday
Kick off the sweetest weekend of the Lititz year with Second Friday. Downtown merchants host family activities and entertainment, free and open to the public, in stores and venues throughout the downtown shopping area from 5 to 9 p.m.

Chris Poje of Chapel Di Amore, an all-inclusive wedding venue here in Lititz, crooned for the Second Friday crowd on East Main Street last month. He’ll be back this Friday. Check out his entertaining performance of Frankie Valli’s “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” on the Lititz Record Facebook page. (Photos by Steve Seeber)
Here’s a glimpse of what’s going on this Friday:
- Scarecrow Contest — Vote for your favorite scarecrow. Judging is open to the community and visitors of Lititz. Pick up your ballot at any participating shop and drop off before the night ends. Visit facebook.com/downtownlititz and facebook.com/lititzonbroad for more information.
- Art Show — Danner’s Deli will host local artist Kathleen Musser from Dusty Palette.
- Meet the Authors — Aaron’s Books will host Local Authors Night from 6 to 8 p.m.
- Live Music — Dosie Dough hosts female rock band The Pettycoats on their steel wheel tour, from 6 to 8 p.m., on the patio. The tour in conjunction with 411gina.com is raising awareness about missing people.
- Free Cookies — Clemintines is celebrating its seventh anniversary through Oct. 12. Daily gift certificate giveaways and door prizes, as well as Second Friday chocolate chip cookies, mark the event.
- Apple Cider — Zum Anker Alley Shoppes will be welcoming fall by serving apple cider punch and cookies. Forgiven will perform.
- More Art — Lititz Framing & Fine Arts on North Broad Street will feature local artist Stacey Zimmerman. And while you’re there, don’t forget about all the great shops along Broad Street.
- Singing on the Patio — The Curiosity Shoppe will feature the Sweet Adeline quartet Vintage singing popular songs from the ‘20s through the ‘60s on the patio from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
- Meet the Stylist — Min D’s is hosting a Stella and Dot jewelry show. Come in and work with stylist Lindsay Rambler to make selections. Light refreshments will be served.

Strange Eden rocked Sturgis Lane last month, their last Second Friday performance of the year. But there will be plenty of other live music to enjoy this Friday. Get out and support the local talent!
And that’s just a glimpse of what’s going on this Friday night. So, head on out with family and friends to enjoy all that downtown Lititz has to offer.
Non-profits seeking to set up stands at future 2nd Fridays are asked to call Venture Lititz at 626-6332 at least two weeks ahead of time to begin the process.
“Lovin’ Lititz Every 2nd” Friday is a monthly event of the Lititz Downtown Merchants, under Venture Lititz. For additional information, including a full list of participating locations and events, call 626-6332 or visit lititzpa.com.
