‘Serenity’ fundraiser at Penn Cinema

After party with live music planned at Fiorentino’s

The first Central Pennsylvania Can’t Stop the Serenity (CSTS) fundraiser is taking place Saturday, July 9, at Penn Cinema in Lititz.

CSTS is a fan-run global fundraising event that has raised over $1 million for charity since its inception. The event will feature a screening of the film “Serenity” (2005) and an after party at Fiorentino’s restaurant with live music from Sean Faust, raffles, giveaways and a silent auction.

The event starts at 8 p.m., and will include a celebration of the fan-driven phenomenon that is Joss Whedon’s “Serenity.” Fans young and old are welcome to join in the fun, meet new people, see old friends and have fun. Attendees will have the option to participate in various raffles and auctions to win a wide variety of items themed around the film, and its TV show inspiration, “Firefly,” and its unforgettable cast.

Penn Cinema is located at 541 Airport Road, Lititz. Fiorentino’s is located a few blocks away, at the Lancaster Airport, 500 Airport Road.

Proceeds are donated to Equality Now, the Lancaster Dutchland Derby Rollers, and Lancaster Girls on the Run.

General admission tickets are $10 and include admission to the screening and the after party. Crew tickets are $20 and include admission and five raffle tickets. A limited supply of Captain’s tickets are also available for $40, and include preferred seating for the “Serenity” screening, 10 raffle tickets, and a shiny swag bag.
