ephratapubliclibraryThere’s always something happening for all age groups and interests at the Ephrata Public Library, located at 550 S. Reading Road.

Feb. 19, 9:30 a.m. – Wednesdays With…Preschool Movie Time. Do you like watching Thomas or solving a problem with Dora? Well come have an adventure with them at the library. We will watch a short movie about one of these characters or one of the many other childhood favorites. After the movie, we will have a snack and character coloring pages. Ages 2-5.

Feb. 19, 9:30 a.m. – Fun with Science for Homeschoolers. Supplement your homeschool curriculum with science lessons at the library. Open to children in grades 4-6, this program will present a standards-based lesson with a literary connection. This program is taught by a Pennsylvania certified teacher.

Feb. 19, 10:30 a.m. – Homeschool Book Discussion Group. In this group, a chapter book is read aloud with periodic stops to discuss the book and answer comprehension questions. This is a great way to expand your reading curriculum. Ages 6-12.

Feb. 19, 12:30 p.m. – Afternoon Tea with the BBC. Join us and enjoy watching various BBC selections while sipping tea and devouring delicious treats.

Feb. 19, 4 p.m. – Teen Manga Book Discussion. This month’s selection is “Black Butler” by Yana Toboso.

Feb. 20, 3:30 p.m. – Junior Friends. Have fun and help the library at the same time. In this group we work on projects and fund-raisers that benefit the library. This is a great place to learn about volunteer opportunities for teens. Ages 13-18.

Feb. 20, 6:30 p.m. – Mystery Book Discussion Group. This month’s selection is “Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder” by Joanne Fluke.

Feb. 20, 7 p.m. – Family Story Time. Families are invited to listen to stories, sing songs, make crafts and have a snack. Stories and activities are planned for children ages 3-7, but siblings of all ages are welcome.

Feb. 24, 2 and 6:30 p.m. – Let The Learning Begin. Have you been wondering how to prepare your child for Kindergarten? If so, please attend this free hands-on information sessions for all Ephrata Area School Districts residents with a child who will be attending Kindergarten in the fall of 2014. Parents and 2014 Kindergarten students should attend together. Babysitting will be provided for younger siblings. Feb. 24, 4 p.m. – El Cuento Bueno (The Good Story) Bilingual Story Time. This special story time includes listening to stories in English and Spanish. We’ll learn basic Spanish words and songs. Ages 5-8.

Feb. 24, 4 p.m. – Teen Book Discussion. Talk about some of the latest and greatest titles from the YA section. This month’s selection is “Charm and Strange” by Stephanie Kuehn.

Feb. 24, 6:30 p.m. – Online Job Searching. Learn how to find great sources of job postings on the Internet. We’ll look at local and national sources of jobs online and some other helpful resources.

Feb. 25, 4 p.m. – Tween Gamers Club. Play video games on the big screen. Snacks provided. For ages 10-12.

Feb. 25, 6:30 p.m. – Inspirational Fiction Book Discussion Group. This month’s selection is “Wrangler in Petticoats” by Mary Connealy.

Feb. 26, 11 a.m. – Windows Media Player. If you have a PC, you have Windows Media Player. Join us in this class to learn how to download music, rip CDs, create playlists and more.

Feb. 26, 4 p.m. – Nintendo 3DS Community. Join us for some DS fun. Whether you’re the next Pokemon Master, or the Mayor in your Animal Crossing town, come prepared to make friends, exchange friend codes and have a great time. You need to bring your own Nintendo DS. Ages 10-18.
