ivace Strings will perform April 17 at 2 p.m. at the Eicher Arts Center, 409 Cocalico St., in Grater Park, Ephrata.

Sara Irvine, director for Vivace Strings, began leading small string ensembles in Pennsylvania in 1991 and formed Vivace Strings after moving to Lancaster several years ago. “Vivace” is the Italian word for lively. The ensemble at the Eicher will include Irvine on viola; Jessica Mitchell, cellist; Julianna Youndt, first violinist; and Emily Brown, who grew up in Ephrata, second violinist.

They will be playing Celtic music; music from the soundtracks of “Game of Thrones,” “The Notebook,” and “Pirates of the Caribbean”; Beatles music; and a few well-known jazz and classical selections.

Admission is free. Refreshments will be provided. Donations to the non-profit Eicher Arts Center, Inc. will be accepted. To learn more, call 738-3084.
