By on April 27, 2016

On Saturday, April 30, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Mount Hope Estate will welcome Volkswagen enthusiasts to a day of food, friends and VWs.

Volksfest 2016 will showcase a collection of over 300 VWs, ranging from air-cooled to water cooled and fully original condition to highly modified. In addition to the display of cars, patrons can shop with over 75 vendors selling new and used VW parts, VW memorabilia, t-shirts, and many other items.

The whole day centers around VW enthusiasts spending time with other enthusiasts and enjoy every aspect of the VW brand.

Volksfest is run by the Harrisburg Area Volkswagen Owners Club (HAVOC). The show started in 1993 at Autohaus VW in Harrisburg as a small get together and swap meet. The sixth annual Volksfest at Mount Hope Estate has escalated from a small gathering to a festival that draws more than 2,000 VW fans. This festival boasts one of the biggest vendor/swap meets in the North East.

During this show and shine event, specialty awards will be given to both air cooled and water cooled vehicles. There will also be awards for best of show overall and worst of show overall. Awards will be announced at 2:30 p.m.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Chasing Rainbows Therapeutic Equine Facility in Harrisburg and the Lancaster Humane League of Lancaster County.

Throughout the event, patrons can enjoy a variety of foods from the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire’s kitchens, as well as micro-brewed Swashbuckler Brewing Company beers and Mount Hope wines.

Fees are $1 per carload for spectators, $5 per car for show field (includes driver and passengers), and $20 for each vendor space. For more information please e-mail HAVOCPrez@Gmail.com or visit GTI16V.com.

Mount Hope Estate and Winery is located at 2775 Lebanon Road, Manheim.
