Ephrata Whistle Stop Open Air Market winding down
And this little shopper went to the Ephrata Whistle Stop Open Air Market.
There is nothing quite like shopping at the local farmers market. Not only can you buy the freshest produce directly from the source and crafted items from the hands of the creators, there is also a collective sense of community that you will not find at the grocery store or mall.
With only two market dates remaining, come this Saturday, Sept. 21, to downtown Ephrata ready to shop.
Along with the seasonal favorites of bread, fruit, vegetable, cheese and sweets, Intermezzo by Stephanie will be returning after a short break with Pretzels Blanketed in Chocolate covered in a variety of toppings. New craft vendors such as SukaDesigns: handmade jewelry offering something beautiful for yourself, or a gift for a lady of any age.
Kathryn J Handbags designs are inspired by the forms and patterns found in nature. She starts with original, hand-drawn images to decorate a variety of handmade handbags, purses, clutches. Signs & ornaments from reclaimed barn planks, skin stretchers & cupboard doors can be found at Fairy Moon, along with a great variety of Pyrography on gourds and seasonal decorations.
Continue your shopping experience beyond the market to the additional stores along Main and State streets. Several stores will have special sales and sidewalk happenings. East Furnishings on the corner of Main and State will be celebrating their one year anniversary, stop by and wish them congratulations.
The Build Your Body Boot Camp event with Body Works by Kneadit will happen on the plaza from 10 -11 a.m. All ages and all levels are welcome.
A family friendly interactive music performance by Grandma Shake will take place from 11 a.m.-noon.
The last market date of the season, Oct. 19, will include the second annual Mini Punkin Chunkin and Get Your Gourd on Event. For updates visit the Ephrata Merchants on facebook or ephratamerchants.com
