Fern was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church, Ephrata since 1941. She was a 1946 graduate of Ephrata High School and a 1947 graduate of Hollywood School of Cosmetology. She was the owner/operator of Marceline’s Beauty Salon until 1958. After spending 12 years at home, she became employed as a cook at the former Akron Restaurant, from 1971 to 1995. She loved her job, all 24 years. Fern was also involved in the family business, E-Z Service, LLC, from 1960 to the present. She was a past president of the Akron Woman’s Club and West Earl Lioness Club, and she loved making peanut butter eggs. She was also a member of The Friendly Circle and The Young at Heart Seniors of Brownstown. She enjoyed cooking, bowling, playing cards, traveling and flying with her late husband in the "Cherokee" 9317-N airplane. Spending time with her granddaughter, Demi, were her most precious moments. Fern was thankful for a very devoted family.
She is survived by a son: Brian K., husband of Karen (Garrett) Ehrhart of Lititz; a granddaughter: Demi Ehrhart; a step sister: Mary Convry; a sister-in-law: Esther Ehrhart and two cousins: Vernon and Terry Lefever.
