Meet the candidates for Homecoming Queen

Homecoming at Ephrata is Friday, Oct. 16 at halftime during the Ephrata High School game against Columbia. The candidates are:

Mason Hornberger is the daughter of Anthony and Dina Hornberger. Mason has played softball and soccer all four years and has participated in PA Classics club soccer. Mason has been a member of student council for four years, serving as president this year. A member of St. John United Church of Christ, Mason works at Boehringers of Adamstown and Laundry Express. In her free time, Mason enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Her plans after high school are to attend a four-year college, majoring in sports management and playing collegiate soccer.

Sarah Ngernwathana is the daughter of Michelle Conroy and Krisade Ngernwathana. Sarah has been involved in a plethora of activities while at Ephrata High School. Her freshman and sophomore years she played softball, while this year she is a field hockey manager. She also took part in ski club, yearbook club and the prom committee. In addition, she played in the powder puff game and the dodgeball tournament. Sarah is a member of the National Honor Society and volunteers at her church. She works at Giant and enjoys hanging out with her friends and walking her dogs. After graduation, she hopes to attend college and earn a doctorate in physical therapy.

Kay Liebl is the daughter of Michael and Cheryl Liebl. Kay has played soccer, basketball and participated on the track team throughout her high school years. Kay is also a member of both the National Honor Society and German National Honor Society. Outside of school, she also attends Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church. In her free time, Kay loves spending time with her family and friends. She especially enjoys the movies and dining at Texas Roadhouse. After graduation, Kay plans on attending a four-year university, majoring in biology and continuing her soccer career.

Grace Sensenig is the daughter of Scott and Carolyn Sensenig. Grace has been a member of the field hockey team for four years, lacrosse team for two years, winter track squad for two years, and the softball team for one year. In addition, she played in the powder puff game and the dodgeball tournament. Grace kept busy as a member of the school newspaper and prom committee her junior year. Outside of school, Grace works at Boeringers and likes to play club field hockey and hang out with her friends. Her plans after high school include attending Indiana University, where she will major in business and continue her field hockey career.

Hannah Rodriguez is the daughter of Vidal and Bernadette Rodreguez. For the past three years, Hannah has served as the secretary of her class. In addition, she headed the prom committee last year and is a member of the National Honor Society, the Spanish National Honor Society, and the TriM Honor Society. Musically inclined, Hannah is a member of the pit orchestra, camarata and has risen to the district and county level choir. Outside of school, Hannah is a member of the Allegretto Lancaster Youth Chamber Orchestra and works at Keystone Villa. After high school, Hannah would like to go to college to study speech/language pathology.

Samantha Hoover is the daughter of Lornita and Richard Poysher. Samantha played on the soccer team her freshman through junior year. In addition, she was a basketball manager her junior year, and a member of the powder puff football team. A member of both the National Honor Society and the Spanish National Honor Society, Samantha was also on the prom committee last year. In her free time, Samantha works at Domino’s Pizza and likes to hang out with her friends. After graduation, Samantha plans to go to college and major in business administration or management
