Workers on Tuesday rolled out the precast pieces that will create the Ephrata Skate Park next to the Ephrata Public Library.Crane

A crane placed the precast elements at about 7:30 from three flatbed truck and workers from Spohn Ranch, the California-based designer, had them placed on footers by around noon.

If the weather permits, concrete should be ready to pour on Monday, said David Burkholder, Ephrata Borough engineering project manager.

The skate park is intended to replace the one previously located on the lower level the pool house at the Ephrata Community Pool. That skate park was closed in 2011 as part of the recent renovation project at the pool.20141028_145640

“Final grading and seeding will likely occur in the spring unless mild temperatures prevail through November,” Burkholder said.
