Andy Zipfel, Army vet, OMPH member, won many sales awards, proud of his four sons

By on April 11, 2018

Andy Zipfel was beloved by his family. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 56 years: Helen; and his sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren. Andy passed away unexpectedly on April 6, 2018.

Andy was born in Sheepshead Bay, N.Y., and admirably served his country in the U.S. Army. After he met Helen, they settled in Brooklyn, N.Y. After his sons, Andy (Annie) and Mike (Janice), were born, they moved to Staten Island, N.Y., where Pat and Tom (Sue) were born.

While visiting Ephrata on vacation, Andy decided to move his family there in 1977. Andy and Helen faithfully attended OMPH church, and they were incredibly proud of their four sons.

Andy’s professional career included working for a number of Fortune 500 companies and winning countless sales awards. His proudest moments, however, were being a father to his four sons and watching their families grow to include his 10 grandkids: Brendan, Casey, Shannon, Megan, Amber, Autumn, Maggie, Morgan, Owen, and Aidan. He will be remembered forever as the greatest and proudest Pop-Pop, who loved his family deeply and fiercely.

A prayer services was held April 9 at Gravenor Home for Funerals, Ephrata, officiated by his beloved brother-in-law, Rev. Patrick McGarrity, C.SS.R. A mass of Christian burial was held April 10 at Our Mother of Perpetual Help, Ephrata.
