Anna Florence Rhoads, 84, Ephrata, former head cashier at Nichols, ‘master chef’ of her family

Anna Florence Rhoads, 84, of Ephrata, passed away Friday July 4, 2014, at the Denver Health and Rehabilitation Center, Stevens.

Born in Lancaster, and a lifelong area resident, she was the daughter of the late Anthony Romendener and Mary Sue Murse Romendener Rineer. Anna was the wife of Daniel Ebersole Rhoads of Ephrata.

Anna was the Head Cashier for the Nichols and Pharmhouse Department stores. She loved to cook and was considered a master chef by her family.

Anna will be lovingly remembered by her two sons: Larry Rhoads of Ephrata, Daniel E. Rhoads, Jr., husband of Sharon of Akron; a daughter: Judy Rhoads of Ephrata; a granddaughter: Sherri Hikes, Ephrata; and great-grandson: Cory Hirst; and three sisters: Mary Wanner, Alice Romendener, and Beatrice Hershey, all of Lancaster.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment in Riverview Burial Park. Arrangements entrusted to Fred F. Groff Funeral Home, Lancaster.
