Anthony E. Discavage Jr., 65, printer, born in Ephrata
Anthony E. Discavage Jr., 65, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully of lung cancer Aug. 21, 2012 at the Hospice and Community Care Center, Mount Joy, surrounded by his family.
Born in Ephrata, he was the son of the late Anthony E. and Susan (Sandoski) Discavage. Tony was the husband of Maria Teresa Pfautz, with whom he celebrated 21 years of marriage.
Tony graduated in 1964 from Lancaster Catholic High School. Prior to his illness he was a van driver for the Manheim Auto Auction; prior to that he worked as a pre-press printer at Cadmus/Lancaster Press for 40 years. Tony enjoyed deep-sea fishing, traveling, spending time with his family and was "always up for a new adventure."
Surviving in addition to Tony’s wife, Maria, are his step-sons: Michael, husband of Shannon Pfautz, of Clay, N.Y.; and Eddie Pfautz, of Largo, Fla.; grandchildren: Michael and Alex; three brothers: Donald A., husband of Anita Discavage, of Lititz; Gregory D., husband of Diane Discavage, of Spotsylvania, Va.; and Thomas, husband of Theresa Discavage, of Lancaster; and a sister: Suzanne, wife of Robert Diller, of Mount Joy; and nephews and nieces: Donald, husband of Kendall Discavage; Lauren and Matthew Discavage; Jasa Hathaway; Katy Matthews; Beth Bisciglia; Sara Martinez; Chad Cowles, Mackenzie and Riley Bedwell; Travis, husband of Noel Cowles; Josh, husband of Kate Discavage; Cole, David and Andrew Discavage; and Tom Moore.
Tony was preceded in death by a brother: David Discavage.
A funeral service was held on Aug. 25 at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. There will be no interment.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Tony’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 314 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17603.
