Arlene Breidenstein, good cook, taught Bible school
Arlene Breidenstein, 83, died Sunday, July 8, 2012 and went home to be with the Lord.
She was born in Oley, the daughter of Clarence and Meda Moyer. She was the beloved wife of Charles Breidenstein, Ephrata, with whom she recently celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary.
Family was the joy of her life. Arlene expressed her love for others by cooking and baking. She always made herself available to help others in need. She was an active participating member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Oley; St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Pottstown; and Bethany Evangelical Congregational (EC) Church, Pleasantville. Arlene served the Lord by teaching Bible school, serving on women’s ministries, and serving on the kitchen committee/cake sale as well as hostess committee.
They were blessed with three children — a son: Michael, husband of Lynn, of Ephrata; a daughter: Leann, wife of Kevin Jones, of Gilbertsville; and daughter: Lori Breidenstein, of Ephrata. In addition, Arlene is survived by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Arlene’s life on July 13 from New Life Bible Fellowship Church, 2960 W. Philadelphia Ave., Oley, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Friedens Cemetery, Oley.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Arlene’s memory to the Outreach Committee, Bethany EC Church, 38 Covered Bridge Road, Oley, PA 19547 (Pleasantville) or a desired charity of choice.
The family would like to thank Arlene’s dedicated and compassionate caregivers from Special Care and Hospice of Lancaster County. Thank God for the blessing that she was to all family and friends.
