Arlene Lutz Devine, 82, Ephrata, head cook at Schoeneck El, enjoyed camping

Arlene Lutz Devine, 82, of Ephrata, passed away Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, at Conestoga View, Lancaster.
She was born in Manheim to the late Henry and May (Barnheart) Shenk and was the wife of the late William Ray “Blubber” Lutz, who passed in 1986, and her second husband, Thomas Jefferson Devine, who passed in 1992.
Arlene was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Denver. She enjoyed going on camping trips to the mountains. During her working years, Arlene worked as the head cook at the Schoeneck Elementary School for 30 years before retiring in 1997.
Arlene is survived by three sons: Gregory, husband of Lisa Lutz of Ephrata; Brent, husband of Vicki Lutz of Adamstown; and Keith, husband of Rachel Lutz of Ephrata; two stepsons: Anthony and Thomas Devine; two stepdaughters: Donna and Jeannie Devine; five grandchildren: Kyle, Amy, Brandon, Ashlea, and Christopher; five great-grandchildren: Jonah, Levi, Ellie, Katilynn, and Benjamin; three siblings: Ellen, wife of Bill Wismer of Lititz; Harold, husband of Norma Shenk of Brickerville; and Marian Wismer of Florida.
Services were held Feb. 10 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Denver, with Pastor Keith Sweitzer officiating. Interment took place in the Mellinger’s Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff at Conestoga View for their loving care.
