Arlene M. Styer, 99, worked at Good’s Potato Chips, Bollman, enjoyed gardening

Arlene M. (Mountz) Styer, 99, of Ephrata, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital.

She was born in Mohnton to the late Harry and Catherine Mildred (Eppenstein) Mountz, and was the wife of the late John H. Styer who died in 2010.

She was a member of Peace UCC, Denver, and enjoyed crocheting, gardening, flowers, crafts and ceramics.

Arlene worked for Leininger’s in Mohnton, Bollman Hat Co., Shirley’s Garment Factory, and Good’s Potato Chips prior to retiring.

Arlene is survived by two daughters: Carole A., wife of Ralph W. Good of Adamstown; and Fay A., wife of David Frederick of Cleveland, Tenn.; seven grandchildren: Gregory (Kathi) and Duane (Yinell) Good; Lee (Kim) Frederick and Kurt Frederick, and Chrissy (Trey) Gray; Rob (Liz) Shaffer, and Eric (Trish) Shaffer; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister: Alice Marie Steffy of Ephrata.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son: Robert D. Styer; and four brothers: Harry D. Jr., Harold L., George R. and Wilson P.

Services were held June 2 at Donecker Chapel at Ephrata Manor. A private interment will take place in the Bowmansville Union Cemetery.
