Arletta P. Gerhart, 84, Ephrata, worked at Doneckers, church organist, hospice volunteer

Arletta P. Gerhart, 84, of Ephrata, passed away Monday, Oct. 5, 2015, at Ephrata Manor.

She was born in Ephrata to the late Howard and Ada (Grube) Bingeman, and was the wife of the late Jacob D. Gerhart.

Arletta graduated from Ephrata High School in 1949, worked in the office for Doneckers for 30 years, was a church organist for 45 years, attended the Christian Fellowship Church, New Holland, attended Ephrata Cocalico Christian Women’s Club, enjoyed crocheting and rug hooking, volunteered at Hospice and Community Care for 11 years, and played in the handbell choir at Ephrata Manor.

Arletta is survived by two daughters: Lucinda D., wife of Larry E. Ritter, of Ephrata; Kathleen F., wife of Larry F. Leach, of Brandon, England; two grandchildren: Laura and Lena Ritter; and a brother: Ronald E., husband of Carolyn Bingeman, of Brookhaven.

Services were held Oct. 10 at the Donecker Chapel at Ephrata Manor, with Dr. Doug Bozung officiating. Interment took place in the Memory Gardens Memorial Cemetery.
