Bernard Hagedoorn, 83, vet, maintenance worker

Bernard Hagedoorn, 83, formerly of Reinholds, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Ephrata Manor.

He was born in Paterson, N.J., to the late Garry and Augusta (Kulkbruch) Hagedoorn and was the husband of Florence (Jacobs) Hagedoorn, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.

Bernard served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He enjoyed gardening. During his working years, Bernard worked in maintenance for PSE & G Electric Company in New Jersey.

In addition to his wife, Bernard is survived by a son: Bernie Jr., husband of Jackie Hagedoorn, of Denver; two grandchildren: Jacqueline, wife of Brian Musser, of Ephrata; and Tyler Hagedoorn, of Ephrata; and a special special friend: Linda Martin.

His funeral service will be held March 8 at 10 a.m. at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut St., Denver. Interment will follow in the Swamp Cemetery.
