Bernice T. Malizia, 75, Ephrata, Rec fitness enthusiast, loved baking, dancing and bluegrass

Bernice T. (VanSant) Malizia, 75, of Ephrata, formerly of Exton and Hatboro, died Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015, at her home.

She was the loving wife of the late Nicholas A. Malizia Sr. for 49 years. Bernice was born in Philadelphia to the late Albert VanSant and Therese A. (Hinmon) Wilson.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Bernice was a fitness enthusiast and visited the recreation center of Ephrata weekly. She loved working out and was actively involved in yoga and spinning classes. Bernice loved baking, dancing, and listening to bluegrass music. She was a member of Lititz Church of the Brethren.

She is survived by three daughters: Andrea T. DeFelice of Parkesburg; Cathleen C. Cionci of Ardmore; Rosemary A. Marucci and husband, Luciano of Hatfield; a son: Nicholas A. Malizia Jr. of Coatesville; nine grandchildren: Julian, Nicholas, Anthony, Therese, Danielle, Michael, Christine, Matthew and Sophia; nine great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Nadia, Luca, Siena, Mia, Ariana, Brielle, Kora and Dominic; four sisters: Christine Garttmeyer of Newtown; Alice Shell of Philadelphia; Patricia Myland and husband, Harold of Downingtown; and Diane Interrante and husband William of Lansdale.

A memorial service was held Oct. 23 at Hatfield Church of Brethren Cemetery, Hatfield. Inurnment was at Hatfield Cemetery.
