Bernie P. Mack, 95, of Ephrata, passed away Friday, Nov. 28, 2015, with family by his side.

He was born in Lehigh County. Bernie was a veteran of World War II, sergeant in the Army Air Forces, and participated in the CBI Campaign in India.

Bernie worked as a machinist at Ephrata Tool and Die. He was passionate about the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, crabbing, and flying remote control planes with the Cocalico Propbusters. He loved spending time at his cabin and fishing for salmon in Oregon. He was well known as a storyteller with a great sense of humor.

Bernie is survived by his loving wife of 72 years: Jean; his daughters: Judy Hoff and Sue Gaulke; grandchildren: Alison, Matt, Andy, Lindsey, and Lauren; and great-grandchildren: Emily, Zach, Luke, Isabelle, Julia, and Beck.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Dec. 11 at 11 a.m. at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church, 320 Church Ave., Ephrata. A private burial will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
