Bertha Fassnacht, 79, Hopeland Mfg. worker
Bertha G. Fassnacht, 79, of Ephrata, went home to be with her Heavenly Father Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at her home.
She was born in West Cocalico Township to the late Phares and Lillie (Getz) Fasnacht and was the wife of the late Clarence M. Fassnacht.
Bertha was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, Lincoln. Prior to her retirement, Bertha was employed at the Hopeland Manufacturing Company. She enjoyed going out to eat and spending time with her family, and after retirement enjoyed attending yard sales. Bertha crocheted lap blankets for veterans at the Walter Reed Army Hospital and the Lebanon VA Hospital.
Bertha is survived by a daughter: Danette K. Burkholder, of Ephrata; daughter in law: Debbie (Wiegand) Fassnacht, of Reinholds; two grandsons: Jeffrey Jr., husband of Wendy Fassnacht; and Dwayne, husband of Holly Fassnacht; four great-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and a sister: Eleanor Pannebecker, of Schoeneck.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her son: Jeffrey L. Fassnacht, in 2010; and her companion: Harold M. Sweigart, in 2005.
Funeral services were held on June 15 at Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, Denver, with Pastor Jeffrey Martin officiating. Interment will take place in the Mellinger Union Cemetery, Schoeneck.
