Bertha T. Schleicher, 96, mother of six, very caring person, enjoyed word puzzles, nature, travel

Bertha T. Schleicher, 96, of Lancaster, passed away Monday, March 21, 2016, at Conestoga View.

She was born in Princeton, Iowa, to the late Fred and Lena (Andersen) Knapper.

Bertha enjoyed word puzzles, embroidery, traveling, nature, and reading. She was a very loving and caring person.

Bertha is survived by three sons: Keith, husband of Ruthann (Hehnly) Schleicher, of Ephrata; George, husband of Dawn Schleicher, of Reinholds; Fred, husband of Debra Schleicher, of Indiana; two daughters: Esther, wife of John Robinette, of Commodore; and Jenny Pethel of White; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by son: Harry Schleicher; and seven siblings.

Services were held March 24 at Mount Zion United Methodist Church, Akron, with Pastor Jacquelyn Sheely officiating. Interment took place in the Mount Zion Evangelical Cemetery.
