Bertha W. Weaver, 86, Denver, member of Meadow Valley Mennonite Church

Bertha W. (Zimmerman) Weaver, 86, entered into rest at the home of her daughter, Friday, Jan. 30, 2015, after a bout with cancer.

She was born in Brecknock Township to the late Noah and Elizabeth (Wise) Zimmerman and was the wife of the late Allen W. Weaver who passed away Dec. 27, 2012.

Bertha was a member of the Meadow Valley Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference.

She is survived by three sons: Marvin, husband of Elizabeth (Burkholder) Weaver of Lititz; Carl, husband of Marlene (Weaver) Weaver of Lititz; Lester, husband of Lucy (Oberholtzer) Weaver of Newmanstown; three daughters: Darlene, wife of Mark Kurtz of Mifflinburg; Janice, wife of Glenn Snyder of Denver, with whom she had last resided; Marie, wife of Marlin Wenger of Manheim; 33 grandchildren; 74 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Eva, wife of the late Henry Brubaker of Richland; and Elizabeth, wife of the late Melvin Horst of Ephrata.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a grandson: Curvin Snyder; and four sisters: Edna Groff, Anna Weiler, Edith Burkholder, and Verna Martin.

A viewing will be held Wednesday, Feb 4, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Midway Mennonite Reception Center, 210 E. Lexington Road, Lititz. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 5, at 9 a.m., at the Midway Mennonite Reception Center, with further services at 9:30 a.m., at the Meadow Valley Mennonite Church, Meadow Valley and Rettew Mill Road, Ephrata, with Bishop Lester B. Martin and Ministers Gary Zimmerman, Elam Ray Martin ,and John Martin officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
