Betty L. Leisey, 85, C&B, Hemmerich worker, ran antique stand, a grandma to everyone

Betty L. Leisey, 85, of Adamstown, died at home March 2, 2018.

Born in West Reading, a daughter of Robert C. and Ethel M. (Hicks) Yerger, her husband, Paul L. Leisey, died Feb. 15, 2007.

A 1950 Shillington High School graduate, she worked for C&B Trimming, Reamstown; Hemmerich’s, Denver; and operated an antique stand. She was a member of Peace United Church of Christ, Swartzville; and was an avid reader and seamstress. Betty was truly a grandma to everyone.

Surviving are her children: Carol (Larry) Malek, West Lawn; Robin (Michael) Allen, Denver; Andrea (Dennis) Moore; Michelle Goshert, both Adamstown; and Kenneth (Kaye Turner) Leisey, Myerstown; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sisters: Joyce Sweigart, Akron; and Rosemary Johnston, Adamstown.

Services will be March 10 at 10 a.m. at Peace UCC, 37 E. Swartzville Road, Denver. She will be interred in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Adamstown. A viewing will be held Friday, March 9, 6 to 8 p.m. at Good Funeral Home, 34 North Reamstown Road, Reamstown; and at the church on Saturday from 9:30 to 10 a.m.
