Betty M. (Seifert) Worley, 87, worked at Leininger Knitting, Scout den mother, enjoyed gardening
Betty M. (Seifert) Worley, 87, formerly of Newmanstown, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at the Phoebe Berks Home in Wernersville.
She is the wife of H. Ernest Worley, with whom she shared 68 years of marriage. Born in Robeson Township, she was the daughter of the late Francis J. and Lizzie (Phillips) Seifert. She was the youngest of 15 children.
Betty was a longtime employee of the former K.W. Knitting Mill and the William G. Leininger Knitting Mill. She was an active member of Zion Evangelical Congregational Church in Mohnton, the Alleghenyville Grange, the Brecknock Republican Committee, the Brecknock P.T.A., the Terre Hill Senior Center, and was travel coordinator for the Milton, Del., Senior Center. She volunteered her time as a former den mother with the Alleghenyville Cub Scout Pack. Betty enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers.
Surviving are children: Glenn D., husband of Carol E. Worley, of Cumru Township; Dennis J., husband of Anne E. Worley, of Stevens; Dale H., husband of Cindy S. Worley, of Robesonia; and Cheryl P. wife of David A. Englehart, of Shillington. She is also survived by grandchildren: Kristen, wife of Mark DiCello; David, husband of Tammie Worley; Marcia, wife of Douglas Sewell; Jason, husband of Holly Worley; Adam, husband of Megan Englehart; and Beth Worley; six great- grandchildren; siblings: Paul Seifert and William Seifert.
Services were held March 8 at Giles and Yeckley Funeral Home, Mohnton, with Pastor Robert W. Shuey officiating. Interment followed in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her memory to Zion E.C. Church, 57 N. Church St., Mohnton, PA 19540.
