Carole P. Buch, 80, Ephrata, husband was her best friend, enjoyed reading, auto races

Carole P. Buch, 80, of Ephrata, formerly of Hellam Township, died peacefully Friday, March 25, 2016, at Lancashire Hall, Lancaster.

Born in Lancaster on Feb. 13, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Carl H. and Pauline M. (Oerman) Ziegler. Carole was the wife and best friend of the late Stephen W. Buch Jr.; he died in 1998.

Carole was a part-time employee at many locations in Lancaster and York counties. She could often be seen with her husband at various area speedways working at the ticket counter, while her husband announced the races. She was a member of the East Petersburg Women’s Club and the York County Racing Club. Carole enjoyed reading, traveling, spending time with her family, and watching classic television and “Jeopardy.” Her main love in life was her husband Stephen and they could always be seen together.

Carole is survived by her children: Michael L. Graves of Lancaster; Jeffrey L. Buch, and his wife LuCinda, of Milroy; Timothy E. Buch, and his wife Tracy, of Lancaster; and Lori Ann Rauch of Ephrata. She is also survived by her sister: Vivian M. Ebersole of Hanover; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandson.

Services were held March 29 at Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Wrightsville, with her son, Jeffrey L. Buch, officiating. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family.
