Christine ‘Chris’ R. Young, 62, Conestoga Wood worker, enjoyed scrapbooking, spoiling grandchildren

Christine “Chris” R. Young, 62, Ephrata, passed away peacefully Friday, April 21, 2017. She was the ornery and loving wife of John A. Brubaker and daughter of the late R. Earl and Thelma (Kelley) Young.

Chris worked at Conestoga Wood Specialties for 27 years before recently retiring. She enjoyed scrapbooking and loved spending time spoiling her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Chris is survived by her three children: Wendi Schlott (Jason) of Denver, Tara Lynn (J.J.) of Pittsburgh, and Curtis Sensenig (Traci) of Ephrata; John’s four children: Sharon Chase (Ken) of Ephrata, John Brubaker Jr. (Eileen) of Lancaster, Michael (Kristen) of Elizabethtown, and Kelly Gensemer (Geoff) of Stevens; eight grandchildren; six siblings: Lorraine Spotts of Warminster, Mary Moyer of Stevens, John Kelley (Darlene) of Ephrata, Peggy Hartranft (Marty) of Newmanstown, Ron Young (Frieda) of Landisville, and Vicki Sweigart (Jim) of Elizabethtown; and a large extended family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four siblings: Richard Young, Albert Young, Shirley Oakes, and Pat Brubaker.

Services were held April 25 at Gravenor Home for Funerals, Ephrata.
