Clyde W. Martin, 87, Ephrata, dairy farmer, East Earl Twp. supervisor, road master, father of five

Clyde W. Martin, 87, of Ephrata, formerly of East Earl, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2019 at Fairmount Homes.

He and his wife, Frances M. (Shirk) Martin, would have observed their 67th wedding anniversary in March. Born in East Earl Township, he was the son of the late Tobias and Ella (Weaver) Martin.

As a dairy farmer, Clyde served on several boards, notably Atlantic Breeders Cooperative and Lehigh Valley Farmers Coop. He had also served as an East Earl Township supervisor and road master. He was an active lifelong member of Weaverland Anabaptist Faith Community.

In addition to his wife, Clyde is survived by five children: Nelson, married to Susan (Gingrich) Martin; Linda, married to Jay Good; LaVern, married to Beth (Wagner) Martin; Karen, married to Dennis Stoner; Clifford, married to Holly (Knepp) Martin; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister: Mary Burkhardt; and a sister-in-law: Betty Z. Martin.

He was preceded in death by a grandson: Jonathan Good; a brother: Lester; and a brother-in-law: Arthur Burkhardt.

A memorial service was held Feb. 2 at Weaverland Anabaptist Faith Community, East Earl. Interment was in the adjoining church cemetery.
