Darla Wilkinson, 67, ECH CNA, Sr. Center volunteer

Darla J. Fritz Wilkinson, Nee: Prouse, 67, of Schoeneck, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, at her home under the care of hospice.

Born Sept. 30, 1946, in Parkesburg, she was daughter of the late Thomas and Helen Prouse.

Darla graduated from Scott Senior High School in Coatesville in 1965. After high school, she was a homemaker and enjoyed her in-home daycare for many years. She worked at the Ephrata Community Hospital as a certified nursing assistant from 1988 until her retirement in 2011. She enjoyed taking care of others.

Darla married J. Harry Wilkinson in Sept. 2008 in Coatesville. They were happily married for five years. She was a member of the Corner Stone Fellowship Church. She enjoyed camping, shopping, dancing and listening to her husband’s music with his band, Honey and the Bee’s. Darla and her husband gave their free time to helping the Cocalico Senior Center.

In addition to her husband, she will be lovingly remembered by her children: Marcella Scott of Denver; Steven Fritz and fiancée Lori Rhine of Red Lion; Mark Fritz and wife Jaime of Denver; stepsons: Timothy Wilkinson and wife Crystal of Glenmoore and Terry Wilkinson of Coatesville; stepdaughter: Geanna and husband Lloyd Steinmetz of Ephrata; one sister: Geri and husband Bob Adams of Delaware; three brothers: Bob Prouse and wife Sue of DE; Tom Prouse and John Prouse both of Texas; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband of 38 years, Gordon E. Fritz (2006).

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Darla’s life celebration Oct. 26 2 p.m. at the Corner Stone Fellowship Church, 101 Kylies Road, Coatesville, PA 19320, Pastor Dr. Charles Jensen officiating. Family will be receiving friends from noon to 2 p.m. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ephrata Cancer Center, 460 N. Reading Road, Ephrata, PA 17522.
