Deaths of local interest – Oct. 11, 2017

SERVICE REMINDER – A memorial mass of Christian burial for Phyllis M. Schmook will be held Friday, Oct. 13, at 11 a.m., at Our Mother of Perpetual Help, 320 Church Ave., Ephrata. Final commendation and farewell will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Thelma N. DeBord, 90, of Ephrata Manor, passed away Oct. 1. Born in Manheim, she was the wife of the late Lee DeBord who passed away in 1998. Surviving are five children, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by several siblings. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. William B. Myer, 40, of Lower Paxton Township, peacefully transitioned into eternal life on Oct. 4. Will was a manager for J.B. Hunt Transport, Harrisburg. He was a devoted member of Living Water Community Church, often a church van driver and served on the Guardian team. He enjoyed watching sports, especially Sprint Car and NASCAR races with his dad and brothers, and riding his motorcycle. Will’s greatest passion in life was his family, often taking family bike rides, and spending time with his friends. His siblings, Doug Myer husband of Heather, and Justin Myer, husband of Nicole, all reside in Ephrata.
