Deborah R. Beber-Kachel, 51, retired state worker, enjoyed spending family time at the beach

Deborah R. Beber-Kachel, 51, of New Cumberland, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2016, at PinnacleHealth Harrisburg Hospital.

She was born in Haddonfield, N.J., to Robert Beber of North Carolina and the late Joan (Parsons) Beber, and was the wife of Carey R. Kachel, with whom she shared 23 years, almost five of those married.

Deborah was a retired state worker and had also worked in the hotel and hospitality industry. She enjoyed reading, cooking, and spending time at the beach with her family.

In addition to her father and husband, Deborah is survived by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard D. and Jeanne D. Kachel, of Stevens; her daughter: Sarah; four step-children: Amy Jo, wife of John Crane; Ashley Nicole Kachel; Travis R. Dorwart; and Brittany A. Dorwart; five step-grandchildren; and two sisters: Andrea, wife of Robert Bronson; and Judith, wife of Michael Johnson.

A visitation will be held Saturday, July 16, from 10 to 11 a.m., at the Calvary Baptist Church, 530 Milton Road, Lancaster. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m., with Pastor John Jewers officiating. Interment will be a private affair for the family.

Memorial contributions in Deborah’s memory may be made to Calvary Baptist Church Missions Fund.
