Dorothy H. Alexander, 89, Bollman Hat Factory worker, enjoyed walking, bingo, camping
Dorothy H. Alexander, 89, of Stevens, formerly of Adamstown, passed away Friday, March 24, 2017, at Gardens at Stevens Nursing Home.
She was born in Sinking Spring to the late Arthur and Catherine (Steffy) Sweimler, and was the wife of the late Lester C. Alexander who passed away in 2008.
Dorothy worked for Bollman Hat Factory in the boxing department for more than 30 years. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Adamstown, the Ephrata Hospital Walking Club, and Elderberries senior group. She enjoyed bingo and camping.
Dorothy is survived by a son: James L., husband of Rosemary E. (Mosher) Alexander, of Newmanstown; two daughters: Michelle R., wife of Russell R. Martzall, of Reamstown; and Judith, wife of Michael Myatovich, of Port Orange, Fla.; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister: Ruth Kopp; and a brother: Arthur Sweimler.
Services were held March 29 at Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, Denver, with Pastor Sandy Gideon officiating. Interment took place in the Pleasant View Cemetery.
