Dorothy M. Nye, 95, Denver, mother of four, enjoyed bingo, spending time with family

Dorothy M. Nye, 95, of Denver, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Mount Hope Nazarene Retirement Community.

She was born in Reading to the late Charles and Mamie (Anderson) Seifrit and was the wife of the late Arthur L. Nye who passed away April 6, 1986.

Officially retiring in 1984, she enjoyed crocheting, visits from her family, playing bingo, and family poker games.

Dorothy is survived by four children: Dolores J., wife of Dale E. Oberly, of Ephrata; Gerald L.., husband of Janet G. (Klaus) Nye of Stevens; Sandy M. Nye, companion of Clare Scianna, of Delaware; Cindy A., wife of Mark A. Schweitzer, of Adamstown; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; three siblings: Betty Klopp of Leesport; Shirley Groff of Shoemakersville; and Charles, husband of Scarlett Seifrit, of Bernville.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three siblings: Ella Gicker, Walter Seifrit, and Catherine Burkey.

A viewing will be held Thursday, April 21, 2016, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut St., Denver. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m., with Pastor William Hoch officiating. Interment will take place in the Pleasant View Cemetery.
