Dr. Sharon Christine Snyder, 66, EHS grad, Kean University ESL director, enjoyed singing

Dr. Sharon Christine Snyder, 66, of Cranford, N.J., died Friday, March 11, 2016.

She was a professor at Kean University in Union, N.J., where she directed the English as a Second Language program for 10 years.

Sharon grew up in Akron and was a 1967 graduate of Ephrata High School. During her high school years she was an active participant in the Vorspiel at the Ephrata Cloister.

Her ashes will be interred at the Akron Mennonite Church Cemetery, 1131 Diamond St, Akron, on Friday, April 1, at 1 p.m. A memorial service is planned for Sunday, April 24, at 2 p.m., at her home church, Connecticut Farms Presbyterian Church, 888 Stuyvesant Ave., Union, N.J.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Connecticut Farms Presbyterian Church, Union, N.J., at ctfarms.org.
