Edna M. Waid, 90, EHS grad, beautician, kind and generous, enjoyed golfing, gardening

Edna M. Waid, 90, a loving wife, mother, and life-time resident of Ephrata, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at Ephrata Manor.

She was born in Ephrata to the late William and Minnie (Heck) Wentling, and was the wife of the late B. Franklin Waid, who passed away in 2003.

She was a 1944 graduate of Ephrata High School and a lifetime member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.

Edna was a self-employed beautician for 56 years before retiring in 2003. She was an avid golfer and gardener. She enjoyed traveling, playing bingo, and socializing with family and friends. Edna was also a member of Ephrata Community Hospital Auxiliary and Golden Years. Her kindness and generosity put everyone at ease and she was loved by many who knew her.

Edna is survived by a son: Michael W. Waid of Ephrata.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son: Randall Scott; two brothers: Russell L. Wentling, Earl F. Wentling; and a sister: Arlene Roland.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
